We are committed to the highest standards of product excellence through good manufacturing processes. The VCL Group philosophy ensures that the raw materials that go into our products are of the highest quality which we know is of vital importance to our consumers.
VCL has developed its own unique HACCP process (a HACCP system is an internationally recognised system originally designed as a control system with NASA to ensure food safety for the first manned space missions) which allows us to ensure that we never compromise quality and that we follow the highest industry standards.
We are also accredited by the BRC (British Retail Consortium) which is the global standard for food safety. This ensures that our quality management programmes are operating successfully. The BRC standard brings the additional confidence that high product safety issues are met. This allows us to ensure that the products we manufacture are consistently made safely and to the highest quality.
We are also certified by GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) which ensures we operate to the highest levels of quality and hygiene standards. GMP covers all aspects of production from raw materials, premises and equipment to the training and personal hygiene of staff. Written procedures are essential for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product. We have systems to provide documented proof that correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process every time a VCL product is made.
Our internationally recognised ISO 9001-2008 certification allows us to ensure that our manufacturing production is safe and effective. It also allows us to have effective controls and procedures for purchasing our raw materials in a way that ensures identification, traceability and preservation of product. This means that we monitor and measure our systems so that accuracy is assured and that our staff are highly trained in our manufacturing processes.
VCL is also accredited by the HFA (Halal Food Authority) which promotes adherence to food safety, food hygiene and quality in compliance with UK laws within the teachings of the Islamic jurisprudence and faith.
Our procedures are audited four times each year to ensure that we maintain our services to the highest standards. Testing of raw materials is carried out, on our behalf, by the independent laboratory, Nutrition Diagnostic, to ensure the materials for our products meet required specifications. The manufacturing and packing lines are managed with an advanced air filtration system and a continuous programme of deep cleaning and sanitisation.
